JUNE 2008
Tuesday-Thursday, June 17-19, 2008 at 8:00AM AM, "A three day two night overnight Miata event to St. Augustine Florida." Sponsored by Jorge & Orte Gil
On April 3rd 1513, Ponce de Leon discovered the continent of North America and the spring which he hoped was his “Fountain of Youth”. In the never ending search for youth and vitality, it has come to my attention that the magical waters may be in St. Augustine. But, time is running out, so join us in the search before it’s too late. Whether you’re looking to take some years off your life, get rid of some wrinkles or just have some fun, this is the trip for you.
JULY 2008
Sunday, July 13, 2008 at 10:00AM, "PEACE RIVER WILDLIFE CENTER VISIT" Sponsored by Steve & Cindy Brown
PEACE RIVER WILDLIFE CENTER, 3400 West Marion Avenue (Ponce de Leon Park),Punta Gorda, FL 33950
We will meet at the Jones Loop MacDonald’s at 10:00am to make a short drive to the Wildlife Center. The Miata Club will make a donation to the Center so no admission cost will be collected for those attending but we do hope that you will bring something from their “wish list” to donate. After having a tour of the Wildlife Center, we will have a picnic lunch in the park. This is a “bring your own lunch” event so pack a picnic for yourself, bring a chair if you wish and we will sit by the water and enjoy our lunch before everyone heads home.
Animals that have been orphaned, displaced or injured are brought to the center. If injuries are extensive, the Wildlife Center becomes their permanent home. You will see Bald Eagles, Pelicans, Blue Herons, Owls, Hawks; etc This Center receives no government funding. They survive on our donations and gift shop sales so please be generous.
If you will be attending, please call or email Cindy Brown – 941-625-6733, steve1cindy2@embarqmail.com by July 10. Hope to see you there.
WISH LIST: Paper Towels, Trash Bags (55 gallon, heavy duty), Shelled Walnuts, Wild Bird Seed, Tall Kitchen Trash Bags with drawstrings, Kleenex (non-lubricated, non-scented), Dawn dish soap, Clorox disinfecting wipes, cable ties, bleach, and insect spray for volunteers.
| It isn't fair to expect the same folks to chair every event. Please take your turn. Chairing an event is not difficult - in fact, it's fun! Click on the "Event planning Worksheet" button above for help how to plan an event. Events needn't be on Saturday - Sunday or any other day you choose will be fine. |
